The name Majestic comes from the original name of the hotel. In 1927, construction began on the prestigious Hotel Majestic. It opened for business in 1929 during the reign of King Alfonso XII. Owned by Angel Sanz Vinagera, the hotel was masterfully designed by architect José Miguel de la Cuadra Salcedo.
